You may know that Adobe® Acrobat® 9 allows you to create, edit and combine
PDF files. It provides industry-leading electronic work processes for
government agencies and their mobile workers. By replacing paper with PDF
documents and forms, Adobe Acrobat lets you cut costs and decrease
processing time.
But how can you make Acrobat and the Adobe Reader perform these tasks more consistently and more securely, now and in the future? This seminar series will show you how to do exactly that.
Session #1
Accessible PDF and the PDF Accessibility API - This session will begin with an overview of how Acrobat can be used to enhance PDF files and describe how to make the content of a PDF file available to assistive technology such as screen readers. We'll also discuss the accessibility APIs and interfaces available for Acrobat and the Adobe Reader.
Session #2
Electronic Signature & Approval Solutions - We begin with a brief history of information assurance at Adobe, discuss electronic signatures & the law and finish with Adobe’s electronic signature solutions and other security features. We'll also share implementation suggestions and best practices for choosing an electronic signature based on document type or workflow.
Session #3
Enabling Acrobat 9 Enhanced Security - With the addition of interactive form features, multimedia, and scripting, PDF files continue to become more capable with each release. However, new capabilities present new risks, so Adobe proactively introduces new security functionality to combat emerging threats with each new version. This session discusses how the Enhanced Security feature creates restrictions that may affect some legacy (and new) PDF workflows, and how to create an environment where users can selectively bypass those restrictions on a per document, directory, or host basis.
